I know everyone is so excited because it feels like spring has finally come back. Welcome back beautiful Sydney weather!

I would love to share another hidden gem off Macleay Street in Elizabeth Bay. Only 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross station it’s close to Potts Point.

Oh my goodness!

This price is unbelievable. Truly reasonable. $10s everywhere!

Don’t you think the atmosphere is great?

This is the interior of the restaurant. You can feel the warmth of the sunlight but it’s not too bright. There’s a peaceful quiet at Kujin – you don’t need to worry about not having anyone to eat with because it’s so enjoyable to relax and enjoy your lunch by yourself here.

Miso soup is always a good way to start lunch, and it comes with all lunch sets. I love a steaming dish even in summer. Especially miso soup, I always love it when you can see the steam coming out.

I ordered ‘Salad udon’ $10. The udon noodles are beautifully homemade at Kujin, all the foodies I’ve invited to try it have all said they love it! I was really glad I chose udon for lunch!

#udon

Yes, this is homemade! It’s frustrating that I can’t share this amazing texture through blogging. This salad udon comes with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onsen tamago (poached egg) and pork shabu shabu!

‘Shabu’ is a Japanese onomatopoeia meaning ‘swish’.  Thinly sliced pork or beef is dipped into boiling broth for just a few seconds, this is where the “swish swish” comes from! It takes time to cook because putting all meat into the pot in one go may result in overcooking the meat. You can see how soft and juicy these sliced pork are that means they cooked each slice individually.

There’s always room for dessert, even after a big meal!

From Kujin, it’s only a few minutes walk to Elizabeth bay, and the cheap lunches are real value for money. This is why I recommend Kujin!

Manager, Naomi who is such a lovely lady, has a suggestion about consuming most of your calories from a big healthy lunch.

When you come out the door of Kujin, please go to the right hand side which is the opposite direction to the station. Walk down Onslow Avenue and you will find this gorgeous view!
