Food has been Chef Yoshi’s hobby since primary school, first reading cookbooks and then recreating the recipes at home.During high school, Chef Yoshi worked at a bento shop, and izakaya and a sushi train to gain culinary skills. After that, he travelled to England as a student and worked as a hall manager for a Japanese luxury food store.
5 years ago Chef Yoshi moved to Australia, working in a Japanese restaurant as a chef and learning skills like sashimi. After these experiences, he worked first as a chef at Sushi Samurai, then at Sushi Train Neutral bay. 2 years ago he learned about the menu at Izakaya Yebisu and since last year he has been serving as Tamagata-ya’s manager and chef.
Chef Yoshi is commemorating Tamagata-ya’s 3rd anniversary by revamping the menu. With top quality ingredients, Chef Yoshi would like you to come and enjoy yourself with food, beer, and bar nibbles, but also try the set meals available at night. Weekday lunches are available for you to relax while you eat and destress from work.
